2105662 9215639 PCTABS00016 Polyisocyanate-based foams having a uniformly fine cell size are prepared by reacting a polyisocyanate with an isocyanate-reactive compound in the presence of water and a blowing agent mixture which comprises (a) from 2 to 70 mole percent based on total moles of components (a) and (b), of a substance different from (b), which has a boiling point of from 200K to 393K at 760 mm Hg and, when the boiling point is 283K or greater, a Kelvin boiling point to molecular weight ratio of greater than 1.7; and (b) from 98 to 30 mole percent of a mixture which consists of a hydrocarbon component (b1) that contains four or more carbon atoms and a polyfluorocarbon component (b2) which has a Kelvin boiling point of from 283K to 393K at 760 mm Hg and a ratio of Kelvin boiling point to molecular weight of less than or equal to 1.7 and wherein the mole ratio of (b1):(b2) is from 5 to 95: 95 to 5.
