The invention is for a small, retractable indoor tent where a child may play. Meant primarily to be used indoors, under special circumstances could be used outside as well. When retracted, the tent folds back over an A-frame fitted with shelves for storage which forms the rear of the tent. The tent is extended by pulling forward two legs attached by pivoting joints to two longer arms which themselves are attached by pivoting joints to the buttoms of the A-frame members. A fabric, attached to the leg elements and to the sides of the A-frame, acts to limit the distance the legs may be extended and forms the covering for the tent. The erecting procedure may be carried out by a two-year old child.
