ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A seat is formed by a strip of flexible material hooked at one end to a pair of rods pivotally joined about a common axle and arranged into an X-shape. The strip is preferably hooked by a folded ledge along the upper edge of the strip. A pair of parallel seams defines a pathway for the upper end of each rod. A user sitting on the strip hooked to the rods standing in an erect position pulls down on the strip and on the rods which form a stable backrest for the user.
