ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tow bar for vehicles is disclosed, and is adapted to be folded into a compact structure for storage adjacent to a vehicle front bumper when not extended for towing. The tow bar comprises an elongated beam with spaced ends, and an elongated tube supported at its ends on said beam, with a first and second collar rotatably mounted on opposite ends of the tube, the second collar having sliding movement on the tube. First and second telescopic arms having a front and rear end, with lock means thereon are arranged in one condition to allow telescoping movement and in another condition to lock them together. A coupler having a conventional towing hitch mounted on the front or said arms is provided as are means for folding and unfolding the arms for positioning them between storage and towing positions, the lock means enabling locking of the arms in the towing position of the arms.
