Patent

-Page 1- A folding double header transport apparatus is disclosed comprising substantially a frame and one or more header lifting assemblies each in turn comprising two upper arms of equal length pivotally joined together at a central pivot point, two bottom arms of equal length pivotally joined at one end to two points equidistant from and on either side of the axis of the frame, and joined at their other ends to the upper arms at two points equidistant from the central pivot point. The upper and bottom arms can be joined in either a scissor or diamond configuration. Lift synchronizing means mirrors the movement of the bottom arms and a lifting mechanism moves the central pivot point towards and away from the frame. Header engaging means on the upper arms allow for the attachment of combine headers or other such equipment, which cargo can be raised and lowered between an approximately horizontal loading position and a substantially vertical transport position along the central axis of the frame, which also has the effect of narrowing the load and concentrating the center of gravity of the load.
