In order to improve a folding machine for securing together the edges of two sheet-metal components enclosing an angle between them, with a frame, a folding slide movable on the frame via a drive in a guide running along a folding direction and having at least one pair of folding rollers for folding the edges of the components, and with a holding device on the frame to secure the components during the folding process, in such a way that large and especially long sheet-metal components can be easily handled and inserted into said folding machine, it is proposed that the guide be movable in a substantially vertical direction and that the folding machine have supporting surfaces arranged on a plane running perpendicularly to the folding direction, on which the components can be fitted on edges running transversely to the edges to be folded.
L'invention a pour objet une machine à plier destinée à assembler, par un processus de pliage, les bords de deux éléments en tôle formant un angle entre eux, comprenant un bâti, un chariot de pliage déplaçable sur le bâti, au moyen d'un système de commande, dans un guide s'étendant le long d'une direction de pliage, et présentant au moins une paire de galets de pliage pour le pliage des bords des éléments en tôle, ainsi que des dispositifs de retenue agencés sur le bâti assurant la fixation des éléments en tôle lors du pliage. L'invention a pour but d'améliorer une machine du type précité de telle façon que des grands éléments en tôle, plus particulièrement de grande longueur, puissent être facilement manipulés et insérés dans cette machine. A cet effet, l'invention est caractérisée en ce que le guide est mobile dans un sens sensiblement vertical, et en ce que la machine à plier présente des surfaces d'appui agencées sur le plan d'appui s'étendant perpendiculairement à la direction de pliage, surfaces sur lesquelles les éléments en tôle peuvent être mis en place par leurs bords s'étendant perpendiculairement aux bords conférant le pli.
