A folding picnic table (20) has a frame (24) including folding legs (40). The frame supports a tabletop (22) and a bench (26) extending along each side of the tabletop. The picnic table folds between a use position and a storage position with the benches folded onto the tabletop and tipped onto one side on a caster assembly (28). The table includes a locking device, automatically locking the seating structures to the tabletop at a partially tipped position; and automatically releasing the legs when the table is tipped to a storage position. The frame also includes a retainer plate (82) that keeps the frame from accidentally folding when the benches are folded onto the tabletop for cleaning under the table or during tipping of the table to a storage position.

L'invention concerne une table de pique-nique pliable (20) comprenant un cadre (24) doté de pieds pliables (40). Le cadre supporte un plateau (22) et un banc (26) s'étendant le long de chaque côté du plateau. La table de pique-nique se plie entre une position d'utilisation et une position de stockage dans laquelle les bancs sont pliés sur le plateau et basculés sur un côté sur un ensemble de roulettes (28). La table comprend un dispositif de verrouillage verrouillant automatiquement les structures de siège au plateau, au niveau d'une position partiellement basculée; et libérant automatiquement les pieds quand la table est basculée dans la position de stockage. Le cadre comprend également une plaque de retenue (82) empêchant le cadre de se plier accidentellement quand les bancs sont pliés sur le plateau, aux fins de nettoyage sous la table ou pendant le basculement de la table dans la position de stockage.
