A food package 10 includes a concealed eating utensil 22. The package comprises a can body 12 containing quantity of food 16 with a cover 14 removably secured to the can to enclose one end of the can 12 and to provide a storage compartment 15 between the end of the can and the cover 14. A folded eating utensil 22 is contained in the storage compartment 15. The utensil 22 has two portions: a functional end portion 22a (spoon, fork or knife) and a handle portion 22b with a joint 22c between them for enabling the utensil 22 to be folded for storage in the compartment 15. The term "joint" is used broadly herein to include any form of connection, e.g., a hinge or complete separation of the handle 22b from the functional end portion 22a of the utensil 22 with a socket connection therebetween. Utensil retaining members 30a,32a can be provided inside the cover14 for engaging portions of the utensil 22 to hold it in place.

L'emballage est constitué d'un corps de boîte métallique (12) renfermant un produit alimentaire (16) et d'un couvercle amovible (14) fixé à la boîte métallique (12) pour en fermer une extrémité et pour former un compartiment de rangement (15) situé entre une extrémité de la boîte et le couvercle (14). Un ustensile replié (22) est logé dans le compartiment de rangement (15). Cet ustensile (22) se compose de deux parties : une section d'extrémité fonctionnelle (22a), comme une cuillère, une fourchette ou un couteau, et une section constituée par un manche (22b), reliées entre elles par un joint (22c) permettant de plier l'ustensile (22) et de le ranger dans le compartiment (15). Le terme «joint» est employé au sens large et comprend toute forme de raccord, par ex. une charnière ou un manchon destiné à joindre les parties complètement séparées de l'ustensile (22), c'est-à-dire le manche (22b) et la section fonctionnelle (22a). Des dispositifs d'assemblage (30a, 32a) peuvent être placés dans le couvercle (14) pour permettre de joindre et de verrouiller les différentes sections de l'ustensile (22).
