Vinylidene chloride polymer compositions comprising a vinylidene chloride polymer and from 2 to 12 weight percent of a glycerin ester provide films which exhibit oxygen transmission rates sufficiently low to protect gassy cheeses from spoilage but sufficiently high to let any excess CO2 produced during the cheese curing process escape from the packaged gassy cheeses.

Des compositions à base de polymères de chlorure de vinylidène comprenant un polymère de chlorure de vinylidène et entre 2 et 12 % en poids d'un ester de glycérine permettent de produire des films qui présentent des taux de transmission d'oxygène suffisamment faibles pour protéger les fromages à émanations gazeuses contre la détérioration mais suffisamment élevés pour laisser tout excès de CO¿2? produit lors de la maturation du fromage s'échapper des fromages du type à émanations gazeuses, une fois emballés.
