2119349 9305690 PCTABS00021 A food press, having an elongated body (21) including a forward end (23) with perforations (24) through which pressed foodstuffs can pass, and chamber means (22) adjacent said forward end for receiving and pressing foodstuffs. A reciprocating piston (40) is slidably fitted within the chamber means (22) for moving and pressing foodstuffs, wherein the piston is adapted to be positioned rearwardly of the foodstuffs in the chamber means in its retracted position. The press also has a rotatable handle (50) pivotally connected to the elongated body (21) rearwardly of the piston, and linking means (60) which are connected to the handle (50) and to the piston (40). When the handle (50) is rotated in one direction the piston (40) is moved to its retracted position to allow the chamber means (22) to receive foodstuffs. When the handle (50) is rotated in the other direction the piston (40) is moved to its forward position for pressing foodstuffs through the perforations (24).
