Abstract of the disclosure This invention relates to means for securing a foot onto a rigid boot with the aid of a boot insertable assembly. The assembly according to this invention comprises a rigid foot conforming plantar portion, a rigid foot conforming dorsal portion and a hinge, forwardly joining the plantar and dorsal portions. When removed from the boot, the assembly affords convenient user friendly fit evaluation and correction of fit. When inserted into the boot, the assembly accepts pressure from the boot and equalizes this pressure over a large area of the foot. The assembly facilitates a familiar fit, associated with the assembly, to be transferred from one boot to another boot. The assembly according to this invention is most advantageously used with rigid ski boots having an internal cable system for securing the foot.
