A foot mat is composed of a plurality of elongated rail members (20) arranged closely adjacent each other with a gap between each adjacent pair of rail members. Each rail member is of uniform cross section along its length and includes a body portion (22) and a pair of spaced-apart dependent leg portions (27). An elongated tread member (100, 104, 106, 108 or 110) is received on the upper surface of each rail member. Each adjacent pair of rail members is joined by an extruded plastic connector member (30) that has a connecting web portion (32) and a pair of generally U-shaped socket portions (38). Each leg portion of each rail and each socket portion of each connecting member are configured to snap-fit together and have interengaging shoulders (27s and 38s) that are configured to retain the leg portion in the socket portion. Each rail member has a pair of laterally spaced-apart dependent elongated anchor tab portions (28), each of the anchor tab portions engaging a socket portion of one of the two connector members to which the rail member is coupled and having been plastically deformed to grip the socket portion so as to prevent longitudinal displacement of the rail member relative to the two connector members.

L'invention concerne un paillasson composé d'une pluralité d'éléments (20) rails allongés adjacents des uns aux autres, un espace séparant chaque paire d'éléments rails adjacents. Chaque élément rail présente une section transversale uniforme sur sa longueur et comprend une partie (22) corps et deux parties (27) supports solidaires espacées l'une de l'autre. Un élément (100, 104, 106, 108 ou 110) d'usure allongé est monté sur la surface supérieure de chaque élément rail. Chaque paire d'éléments rails adjacents est assemblée par un élément (30) connecteur en plastique extrudé qui présente une partie (32) nervure de connexion et deux parties (38) d'emboîtement sensiblement en forme de U. Chaque partie support de chaque rail et chaque partie d'emboîtement de chaque élément connecteur sont configurés de manière à venir s'encliqueter l'un dans l'autre et présentent des épaulements (27s et 38s) à engagement réciproque, configurés pour retenir la partie support dans la partie d'emboîtement. Chaque élément rail comprend deux parties (28) pattes de fixation allongées, solidaires, espacées latéralement l'une de l'autre. Chacune de ces parties pattes de fixation vient s'engager dans une partie d'emboîtement d'un des deux éléments d'assemblage reliés à l'élément rail, et subit une déformation plastique par laquelle elle vient s'appuyer sur la partie d'emboîtement et empêche ainsi le déplacement longitudinal de l'élément rail relativement aux deux éléments connecteurs.
