The force measuring device has a cell possessing an axis and a ring which is coaxial thereto and is elastically deformable by shearing as a result of forces which are parallel to the axis and are input into said ring on its outer side and inner side. A force transmission device has at least one frame and two straps formed together with said frame from a one-piece lamina. The or each frame is connected to the ring. The straps are connected to a transducer which preferably has a string which vibrates during the measurement. The force transmission device can transmit forces from the ring to the transducer and thus particularly substantially prevent nonuniform deformations of the ring from causing measurement errors.
