A forced-air heating system (100) and a method of operating the same is provided, the system utilizing a forced-air subsystem (101) that includes a primary heat exchanger (103), a pulsed electrolytic heating subsystem (105), and a secondary heat exchanger (107). The electrolytic heating subsystem is a pulsed electrolysis system that, during operation, heats the medium (109) contained within the electrolysis tank (111). The medium is circulated via a conduit (115) to the secondary heat exchanger (107). Heat transfer medium is circulated via a second conduit (117) between the secondary heat exchanger (107) and the primary heat exchanger (103). Air forced past the primary heat exchanger (103), for example with a blower fan (125), is directed to the desired region, either directly or via ducting (127). In at least one embodiment, the system includes a plurality of distinct primary heat exchangers (205/207).
