An automatic door assembly for closing an opening moves from an open position to a closed position along a first direction and along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The assembly comprises a pressure sensor of an elastically deformable semi-rigid material integrally formed with a flexible complementary portion as a conduit for surrounding the outer cover. The cross- sectional of the conduit is larger than the cross-sectional area of the outer cover defining a channel inside the conduit. A plurality of spaced apart wires are supported on an inside surface of the outer cover and capable of coming into direct contact whenever a force is applied to the conduit and the outer cover for generating a signal to perform a reverse motion of the door.
