A form processing method for extracting data items from a form previously digitized in the form of a digital image, the method comprising prompting a user to indicate a location of one or more physical fields each physical field relating to a data item of specific type; receiving one or more indications provided by the user on the location of the physical fields; and identifying content and location of the data items of the physical fields using related data formats.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement de formulaires pour extraire des articles d'un formulaire préalablement numérisé sous forme d'une image numérique. Le procédé consiste à demander à un utilisateur d'indiquer un emplacement d'une ou plusieurs zones physiques, chaque zone se rapportant à un article d'un type spécifique. On reçoit ensuite une ou plusieurs indications fournies par l'utilisateur concernant l'emplacement des zones physiques. Enfin, pour identifier le contenu et l'emplacement des articles de zones physiques, on utilise les formats de données correspondants.
