The invention provides an electrophoretic suspension com- prising a suspension medium including tetrachloroethylene, 5- tthylidene-2-norbornene and an aromatic solvent including either a mixture of phenyl xylyl ethanes or a mixture of mono and di- benzyl toluene. The suspension further comprises a plurality of pigment particles dispersed in the suspension medium; a fluid dye dissolved in the suspension medium for providing a contrast with the pigment particles; and a charge control agent adsorbed on the pigment particles for preventing the pigment particles from ag- glomerating.

L'invention concerne une suspension électrophorétique comprenant un milieu de suspension contenant du tétrachloroéthylène, 5-éthylidène-2-norbornène et un solvant aromatique comprenant soit un mélange de phényle xylyle éthanes ou de mono et dibenzyltoluène. Ladite suspension comprend également une pluralité de particules pigmentaires dispersées dans le milieu de suspension, un colorant liquide dissous dans le milieu de suspension permettant le contraste avec les particules pigmentaires, et un agent de régulation de charge adsorbé sur les particules pigmentaires et destiné à empêcher l'agglomération de ces dernières.
