A method and apparatus for combining retransmitted hybrid automatic repeat- request (HARQ) messages at different stages in an OFDM/OFDMA receiver are provided. A combination of different types of HARQ combiners may be designed into the receiver and selected on a per-channel basis. Proper selection of a HARQ combining scheme may reduce the required HARQ buffer size and may provide an increased combining gain when compared to conventional HARQ combining techniques. Furthermore, the HARQ combiner type may be dynamically selected through forward and reverse shifting between the different types of HARQ combining schemes in an effort to decrease the bit error ratio (BER) without saturating the HARQ buffer.
Cette invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de combiner des messages de demande de retransmission automatique hybride (HARQ) retransmis à différents niveaux dans un récepteur MROF/AMROF. Une combinaison de différents types de multiplexeur HARQ peut être mise en oeuvre dans le récepteur et sélectionnée sur une base canal par canal. Une sélection appropriée du mécanisme de combinaison HARQ peut réduire la taille de la mémoire tampon HARQ requise et peut permettre d'obtenir un gain de combinaison plus important par rapport aux techniques de combinaison HARQ classiques. En outre, le type de multiplexeur HARQ peut être sélectionné de manière dynamique par décalage avant et décalage inverse entre les différents types de mécanismes de combinaison HARQ de manière à permettre une réduction du taux d'erreurs sur les bits (TER) sans saturer la mémoire tampon HARQ.
