The invention relates to a device for eliminating the malodorous components of flatus and ammonia generated during the use of a toilet, such as a flushing toilet or bedpan, and comprises a chemical converter (100). The chemical converter is for use with a gas handling apparatus (400) for capturing malodorous air, such as through intake ports (402) located at the level of the toilet bowl rim. The malodorous components are irreversibly transformed by the converter into non-volatile non-malodorous substances, thereby neutralizing their undesirable effect.

L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant d'éliminer les composantes malodorantes (expulsions de gaz par l'anus et d'ammoniac) liées à l'utilisation des toilettes, du type à chasse d'eau ou à bassin hygiénique. Le dispositif comprend un convertisseur chimique (100) qui fonctionne avec un appareil de traitement de gaz (400) pour capter l'air vicié, par exemple à travers des orifices d'entrée (402) situés au niveau de la bordure du bol des toilettes. Vient ensuite une conversion irréversible des composantes malodorantes, dans le convertisseur, sous la forme de substances malodorantes non volatiles, ce qui permet de neutraliser les effets indésirables.
