The foundation beam is of L-shaped cross- section and along its length it has equidistant recesses which are provided with fastening means for retaining re- inforcement irons fitted in the foundation cast in situ. A plant is also provided for making said foundation beam and this consists of an upwardly open form provided with preferably movable side form parts and a stationary inner form part, whereby two foundation beams turned upside down can be manufactured by pairs at the same time. -1-
