A method for assessing the fracture pressure closure is proposed. This method includes first injecting a fluid into the formation at a first generally constant rate Q to create a fracture, and then, dropping the pumping rate to significantly smaller feed rate q so that the volume of the fracture becomes constant, in other words. As the fracture volume becomes constant at equilibrium, the well is shut-in. The wellbore pressure is monitored and the closure pressure is determined from the analysis of the wellbore pressure using a time-function of the dimensionless "shut-in" time, defined as the ratio of time since shutting to pumping time. This method provides a way of estimating the friction component of the monitored wellbore pressure due to the fracture tortuosity and friction. It is applicable to the art of fracturing subterranean formations and more particularly to the process of designing and analyzing stimulation treatments.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'évaluation de la pression d'une fermeture de fracture. Ce procédé consiste d'abord à injecter un fluide dans la formation à un débit généralement constant Q pour créer une fracture, puis à abaisser le débit de pompage de sorte que le débit de refoulement q soit nettement inférieur et que le volume de la fracture devienne constant, en d'autres termes. Lorsque le volume de la fracture est constant à l'état d'équilibre, le puits est obturé. La pression du puits de forage est surveillée et la pression de fermeture est déterminée à partir de l'analyse de ladite pression de puits de forage, au moyen d'une fonction temporelle du temps d'"obturation" adimensionnel, défini comme le rapport entre le temps écoulé depuis l'obturation et le temps de pompage. Ce procédé peut s'appliquer à la fracturation de formations souterraines et, plus particulièrement, au procédé de conception et d'analyse de traitements de stimulation.
