A wick which comprises a network matrix ceramic that is contacted either directly or indirectly with a liquid composi-tion such as a fragrance-containing composition. The wick absorbs and transports the liquid composition through capillary action, and the composition is subsequently diffused into the surrounding am-bient atmosphere.
