ABSTRACT Frame for door or window opening A frame element of U-shaped cross-section is clamped to a wall rim bounding an opening in a wall by means of two clamping jaws. Said clamping jaws are formed in a steel sheet bent over in its longitudinal direction and are profiled substantially throughout their lengths, so that with a small thickness of material the clamping jaws mainly derive their rigidity from their profile. The clamping jaws provide a mounting for the hinge support element for a door or window.
