The invention concerns an electronic franking machine (10) comprising franking means (11) and means for recording (17) the number of franking operations. It comprises means for connection (28, 19) via a computerised communication network (1, 3), to a central server of a computerised central control centre, and means forming a computerised server (31-41) adapted to transmit and receive computerised requests and responses for performing transactions with the central server, said transactions being selected among at least a resetting of the means recording (17) the franking operations, a transfer of files constituting the records of the recording means (17) and a franking cycle.
Une machine à affranchir électronique (10) comprend des moyens d'affranchissement (11) et des moyens de comptabilisation (17) des affranchissements. Elle comporte des moyens de connexion (18, 19), via un réseau de communication informatique (1, 3), à un serveur central d'un centre de contrôle informatisé, et des moyens formant serveur informatique (31-41) adaptés à émettre et recevoir des requêtes et des réponses informatiques pour réaliser des transactions avec le serveur central, lesdites transactions étant choisies parmi au moins un rechargement des moyens de comptabilisation (17) des affranchissements, un transfert de fichiers formant des relevés des moyens de comptabilisation (17) et un cycle d'affranchissement.
