A method of identifying fraud in a telecommunications system. The method includes receiving data related to a current call placed from an originating automatic number indicator (ANI), where the received data includes at least the originating ANI, a billing number and an identification code (step 200). A threshold number and a time interval corresponding to the identification code for the ANI are retrieved from a memory (step 202). In addition, billing numbers for prior calls from the originating ANI, if any, and corresponding indicia of the times of calls are retrieved (step 204). A determination is made of whether the number of billing numbers used for current and prior calls from the originating ANI over a prior period of time equal to or less than the time interval exceeds the threshold number (206). If the threshold number is exceeded, a fraud alert is generated (208). If the threshold number is not exceeded, create and store calling record for current call using current call data (step 210).
L'invention concerne un procédé d'identification de fraudes dans un système de télécommunications. Ledit procédé consiste à recevoir les données relatives à un appel ponctuel passé depuis un indicateur de numéro automatique d'origine (ANI), les données reçues comprenant l'ANI d'origine, un numéro de facturation et un code d'identification (étape 200). Un nombre seuil et un intervalle de temps correspondant au code d'identification pour l'ANI d'origine sont extraits d'une mémoire (étape 202). Par ailleurs, les numéros de facturation pour les appels antérieurs passés depuis l'ANI d'origine, le cas échéant, et les repères correspondants, relatifs aux heures des appels, sont extraits (étape 204). Il est déterminé si le nombre de numéros de facturation utilisés pour les appels en cours et antérieurs de l'ANI d'origine sur une période de temps inférieure ou égale à l'intervalle de temps, dépasse le nombre seuil (206). Si c'est le cas, une alarme de fraude est générée (208). Si ce n'est pas le cas, un article d'appel pour l'appel est créé et mémorisé au moyen des données d'appel en cours (étape 210).
