ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed herein are Fredericamycin A derivatives, each, represented by the following general formula (I): Image (I) wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a C- acyl group, A denotes Image and the dotted lines in the formula indicate optional double bonds, with the proviso that when A is Image or when the optional double bonds are present in the formula, R is a group other than a hydrogen atom. They have excellent antibacterial and antitumor activities and at the same time, are extremely stable compared with Fredericamycin A.
