A free-flowing powder fountain solution concentrate for use in lithographic printing is provided which comprises at least one of a solid ammonium or alkali metal phosphate, a solid polysaccharide, and a preservative. The powder concentrate's components have uniformly high water solubility as a blend, producing liquid concentrates in excess of 0.7 lbs/gallon of water for ease of use without the need for constant recirculation during storage. A process for preparing a liquid fountain solution concentrate in excess of 0.7 lbs/gallon of water is also provided whereby a premeasured quantity of the powder concentrate is packaged in a moisture proof package to preserve the powder's free flowability prior to use, and prevent exposure to irritating chemical dust during use.
L'invention porte sur un concentré de solution de mouillage sous forme de poudre à écoulement libre destiné à être utilisé dans l'impression lithographique. Ce concentré comprend au moins un phosphate d'ammonium ou un phosphate de métal alcalin solide, un polysaccharide solide et un conservateur. Les composants du concentré de poudre présentent une solubilité dans l'eau uniformément élevée, sous forme de mélange, et produisent des concentrés liquides supérieurs à 0,7 livres/gallon d'eau, ce qui facilite leur utilisation, et sans avoir à recourir à une recirculation constante pendant leur stockage. L'invention porte également sur un procédé de préparation d'un concentré de solution de mouillage liquide supérieur à 0,7 livres/gallon d'eau, une quantité mesurée de ce concentré en poudre étant conditionnée dans un emballage hydrofugé de façon à conserver l'aptitude de la poudre à s'écouler librement avant utilisation, et éviter une exposition à une poussière chimique irritante lors de sa manipulation.
