CA 2180414

An electrical coupler contact for use in an insulation block of a transit vehicle, having a hollow, tubular barrel portion with polygonal side walls sufficient to be engaged by a conventional wrench, with a conductive, threaded bolt portion secured at a first end of the barrel portion and a conductive, spring biased plunger extending through an aperture in a second end of the barrel portion. The aperture is provided with annular flange extending radially inwardly therefrom, and the plunger is provided with a resilient O-ring seal member positioned to engage the annular flange when the plunger is fully extended outwardly through the aperture. The polygonal side walls of the barrel portion will allow the contact to be insertable within the insulation block with a conventional wrench thereby eliminating the need for tool slots which would prevent the O-ring seal from effectively sealing the aperture to prevent ingress of water into the barrel portion.
