FREQUENCY DETECTOR CIRCUIT Abstract of the Disclosure A frequency detector circuit is provided to detect which of two input signals is higher in frequency and to produce digital output information to indicate the frequency relationship of the two input signals. The frequency rela- tionship between the two input signals is determined without regard to the phase relationship between the two input. signals, and is effected by sensing either rising edges or falling edges of each of the input signals and detecting when two such edges of one input signal occur without an, intervening edge of the other input signal.
