FREQUENCY SHIFT KEYING MODULATION AND DEMODULATION FOR SERIAL COMMUNICATION ON A CURRENT LOOP ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A frequency shift keying modulation system and demodulation system on a current loop is disclosed. The modulation system includes a digitally controlled oscillator whose output frequency is regulated by the rate of charging and discharging of a capacitor within same. The signal produced by the digitally controlled oscillator is superimposed on the current loop. A demodulation system, which also includes a digitally controlled oscillator, produces an output signal that is the digital representation of a frequency shift keying signal superimposed on the current loop.
