The present invention relates to a frequency switching method and circuit for display unit. When power supply of display unit is ON, a power-saving circuit produces a microprocessor action voltage for the control of vertical, horizontal synco output, and base frequency 31KHZ - 38KHZ is adjusted into 15KHZ. when display unit is used as a monitor, it may still have all 15K CGA and VGA functions, and when combined with VISION BOX, it may be increased with TV, LD, CD, HiFi system. CATV functions, and super picture quality can be accomplished through the characteristics of 15KHZ linear line without distortion.
