ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An optical memory device comprising a memory plate having a plurality of memory pages for recording data arranged in a one-or two-dimensional manner and a Fresnel zone plate having Fresnel zone patterns arranged similarly and in correspondence with said memory pages, such that the zone plate is disposed opposite to the memory plate. The image of the data read out optically from each memory page is focused through the Fresnel zone plate and a large- aperture lens onto a light receiving element.
