ABSTRACT Friction bearing for deep well drilling tools, especially drill bit direct drives, with a trace ring and a bearing ring where the bearing ring has bearing segments whose friction bodies are supported on the sliding face of trace ring and the trace ring has a ring-shaped bearing body, e.g., made of steel and prefabricated molded bodies with a bearing material that is hard and wear resistant provided at least on the top side of the bearing body, characterized by the fact that the sliding face of the trace ring is formed by a number of molded bodies countersunk so they are flush with the surface of the bearing body and they are arranged side by side in a mosaic pattern, with their surfaces together defining a ring path that has an essentially closed surface.
