Abstract A device is disclosed for producing a friction joint. The device has inner and outer members having concentric opposite saw-toothed surfaces, which are squeezed against each other upon relative axial displacement in one direction. The surfaces can each be formed by a number of taper portions arranged in a row or by a helical ramp, which forms an angle with the centre axis of the members.
