ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a carbon fiber reinforced carbon (CFRC) friction material containing matrix carbon, and, as a reinforcing fiber at least one carbon fiber and a process for making same by which an antioxidant is incorporated by impregnating a solution of antioxidant. The present invention is useful in reducing abrasion loss of the CFRC.
