A front baby carrier includes a harness to be worn by an adult user and a detachable seat attachable to the front of the harness by front connecting devices with its front facing either toward or away from the user, whereby a baby can be seated in the seat in front of the user facing either toward or away from the user. A front- or-back baby carrier further includes back connecting devices for attaching the seat to the back of the harness with its front facing either toward or away from the user, whereby a baby can be seated in the seat either in front or in back of the user facing either toward or away from the user.
