Abstract Of The Disclosure A front-discharge fluid end for a reciprocating pump. The fluid end is distinguished by an outlet valve which is positioned substantially coaxially with the pump plunger and generally facing a longitudinally outer end thereof. The outlet valve is held in place by a valve retainer which includes an outlet port and is connectable to an outlet line. For retrofitting prior pump cylinders, a plug assembly is disclosed for plugging the original outlet valve pocket.
