ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A froth flotation method for concentrating metallic mineral ores wherein a mercaptan is used as a collector and wherein the mercaptan is premixed with an emulsifying or wetting agent, prior to addition thereof to the pulp, thereby to improve dispersion of the mercaptan in the pulp. A collector composition for use in concentrating metallic mineral ores by froth flotation which comprises a mixture of a mercaptan and an emulsifying or wetting agent adapted to improve the dispersion of the mercaptan into the pulp.
