A new process, particularly simple and economical, for FSH and LH separation and purification starting from crude HMG preferably urinary, comprising the following steps: optional exhaustion of crude HMG viral charge in aqueous EtOH; ion-exchange chromatography on weakly basic anionic resins of DEAE type; affinity chromatography on resin having an antraquinone derivative as a ligand; optional ion-exchange chromatography on strongly basic anionic resins. Hormones obtained thereby, in particularly pure form and having high specific activity, may subsequently undergo a depyrogenation step.

L'invention concerne un nouveau procédé, particulièrement simple et économique, de purification et de séparation des hormones FSH et LH à partir de HMG brute, de préférence urinaire, comprenant les étapes suivantes: (1) élimination facultative de la charge virale de l'HMG brute dans une solution aqueuse d'alcool éthylique (EtOH); (2) chromatographie par échange d'ions sur résines anioniques faiblement basiques du type DEAE; (3) chromatographie d'affinité sur une résine ayant comme ligand un dérivé de l'anthraquinone; (4) chromatographie par échange d'ions facultative sur résines anioniques fortement basiques; les hormones, particulièrement pures et présentant une activité spécifique importante, obtenues par ledit procédé peuvent ensuite subir une étape de dépyrogénation.
