56,300 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tubular fuel cell (1) is made, containing a tubular, inner air electrode (3), a solid electrolyte (4), substantially surrounding the air electrode, and a porous outer fuel electrode (7), where the solid electro- lyte and fuel electrode are discontinuous and have in- clusion of an electrical interconnection material (6), where the air electrode (3) is a material selected from LaxCayMnO3, where x has a value from .60 to .72 and y has a value from .28 to .40, or LaxCayCrzMn1-zO3, where x has a value from .60 to .72, y has a value from .18 to .40, and z has a value from .05 to .15 and where a plurality of fuel cells can be electrically connected together.
