A fuel cell separator having extremely excellent corrosion resistance and conductivity. The fuel cell separator is provided with a base material (1) formed of a steel containing a Cr of 10.5 mass% or more, a metal film (3) formed on the surface of the base material (1), and an intermediate layer (2) containing oxygen which is formed between the base material (1) and the metal film (3). The metal film (3) is formed of Au or Pt, and the intermediate layer (2) includes Fe and Cr contained in the steel, and Au or Pt which constitutes the metal film (3).

L~invention porte sur un séparateur à pile à combustible d~une excellente résistance à la corrosion et d~une excellente conductivité. Le séparateur à pile à combustible est pourvu d~un matériau de base (1) réalisé en acier contenant un Cr d~une teneur supérieure ou égale à 10,5 % en masse, un film métallique (3) formé à la surface du matériau de base (1) et une couche intermédiaire (2) contenant de l~oxygène formée entre le matériau de base (1) et le film métallique (3). Le film métallique (3) est composé de Au ou de Pt, et la couche intermédiaire (2) comporte du Fe et du Cr contenus dans l~acier, de même que du Au ou du Pt constituant le film métallique (3).
