The degree of freedom in the shape of channels in a separator is increased, enabling an optimum gas channel to be designed, enabling a sufficient supply of gas below gas channel ribs, and improving cell performance through the reduction in diffusion polarization. Drainage property is also improved and flooding is prevented, thereby reducing diffusion polarization and improving cell performance. Cell performance is also improved through the reduction of contact resistance. A fuel cell separator comprises a separator substrate on which gas channel ribs are formed through vapor-phase growth of a carbon-based porous material with a nanosize structure. An electrode structure for a fuel cell, methods of manufacturing the separator and the fuel cell, and a solid polymer fuel cell comprising the electrode structure.
On accroît le degré de liberté de la forme des canaux d'un séparateur, ce qui permet de concevoir un canal de gaz optimal assurant un apport en gaz suffisant au-dessous de nervures de canal de gaz, et d'améliorer les performances de la pile grâce à la réduction de la polarisation par diffusion. Ce système permet aussi d'améliorer une propriété de drainage et de prévenir un noyage, ce qui réduit la polarisation par diffusion et améliore les performances de la pile. Les performances de la pile sont également améliorées par la réduction de la résistance de contact. L'invention concerne un séparateur de pile à combustible qui comprend un substrat de séparateur, sur lequel des nervures de canal de gaz sont formées par croissance en phase vapeur d'une matière poreuse carbonée à structure nanométrique. L'invention concerne une structure d'électrode pour pile à combustible, des procédés de fabrication du séparateur et de la pile à combustible, et une pile à combustible à polymère solide comprenant la structure d'électrode.
