The invention relates to a fuel cell with at least one cell (2) that is provided with a proton-conducting polymer electrolyte membrane (5) for separating in the cell an anode space (4) from a cathode space (3), said membrane being formed by a thermoplastic polymer with a continuous use temperature of at least 100 ~C.
