Disclosed is a fuel composition containing a major quantity of gasoline having a maximum sulfur content of 150 ppm by weight, and a minor quantity of at least one gasoline additive having a detergent effect or a valve seat wear- inhibiting effect. Said gasoline additive comprises at least one hydrophobic hydrocarbon radical having an average molecular weight of 85 to 20,000, and at least one polar group. The fuel composition further contains at least one low alkanol at a moiety of about 5 to 75 percent by volume.

L'invention concerne une composition de carburant contenant une grande quantité de carburant pour moteurs qui présente une teneur en soufre maximale de 150 ppm en poids, ainsi qu'une petite quantité d'au moins un additif pour ledit carburant qui présente une action détergente ou qui empêche l'usure des sièges de soupape. Selon l'invention, cet additif comporte au moins un groupe hydrocarbure hydrophobe qui présente une masse moléculaire moyenne en nombre comprise entre 85 et 20000, et au moins un groupement polaire. En outre, la composition de carburant selon l'invention comporte au moins un alcanol inférieur dont la teneur est comprise entre approximativement 5 et 75 % en volume.
