589238 ABSTRACT Apparatus for the temporary storage and metered introduction of the volatile components of fuel collecting in the unfilled space (22) of a tank system (15) to the intake manifold (1) of an internal combustion engine (2). A vent line (25) connects the unfilled space (22) with the atmosphere (23) through a storage cannister (18) with an absorption element, such as an activated charcoal filter; and a line (20), closable by means of an electromagnetic shutoff valve (13), connects the storage cannister (18) to the intake manifold. Between the shutoff valve (13) and the manifold (1) is a secondary valve (15) which can be closed in accordance with vacuum in a control chamber (14).
