A fuel injection device works based on the principle of storage of energy in a solid body and is designed as a reciprocating piston pump with a delivery piston (35, 24) that is moved from its initial position towards a compression chamber (66) and stores kinetic energy during an almost resistance-free acceleration phase. The stored kinetic energy is abruptly transmitted by an impact to the fuel contained in the compression chamber (66), generating a pressure wave for injecting fuel through an injection nozzle. A second compression chamber (66') is arranged at the side of the delivery piston (35, 24) opposite to the first compression chamber (66), so that the kinetic energy stored by the delivery piston (35, 24) when it returns to its initial position is transmitted to the fuel contained in the second compression chamber (66').

Cet injecteur de carburant fonctionne selon le principe d'accumulation d'énergie par un corps solide et est constitué d'une pompe à piston alternatif comportant un piston de refoulement (35, 24) qui est déplacé de sa position initiale vers une chambre de compression (66), accumulant de l'énergie cinétique pendant une phase d'accélération presque sans résistance. L'énergie accumulée est transmise brusquement par un choc au carburant contenu dans la chambre de compression (66), générant une onde de choc qui sert à injecter le carburant à travers un injecteur. Une deuxième chambre de compression (66') se situe du côté du piston de refoulement opposé à la première chambre de compression (66), de sorte que l'énergie cinétique accumulée par le piston de refoulement (35, 24), lorsqu'il retourne à sa position initiale, soit transmise au carburant contenu dans la deuxième chambre de compression (66').
