FUEL INJECTION NEEDLE VALVE WITH IMPROVEMENT (D#74,939-F) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement in a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines. The valve has a metallic needle that is axially movable and normally mechanically biased closed so as to rest on its seat. The valve body is metallic as is also the spring that biases it closed. Fuel pressure opens the valve when the injection pressure reaches a predetermined level. The bias spring only (at one end) is electrically insulated from the valve body, and there is an electrical circuit connector to the spring so that a test signal is created when the needle breaks contact with the valve seat.
