A fuel injector pump for an internal combustion engine including a camshaft- driven fuel delivery plunger (38), a solenoid valve (82) for controlling transfer of liquid fuel from a fuel plunger cavity (40) to a fuel injector nozzle (16), and a snubber valve (64) located between the fuel injector nozzle (16) and the plunger (38) whereby unrestricted fuel flow is distributed to the injector nozzle (16) and reverse flow from the nozzle (16) to the plunger chamber is restricted so that cavitation in the fuel delivery passage (52) extending to the nozzle (16) will be avoided and undesirable pressure peaks at the fuel pump are avoided.

L'invention porte sur une pompe d'injection de carburant d'un moteur à combustion interne. Cette pompe comprend un plongeur (38) d'administration de carburant commandé par un arbre à came, une soupape à solénoïde (82) destinée à commander le transfert du carburant liquide d'une cavité (40) du plongeur à une buse d'injection (16), et une soupape de réaspiration (64) placée entre la buse d'injection (16) et le plongeur (38). L'écoulement de carburant non limité est envoyé dans la buse d'injection, mais l'écoulement inversé de la buse à la chambre du plongeur est limité de façon à éviter l'apparition de cavitation dans la voie d'acheminement (52) du carburant allant jusqu'à la buse d'injection (16), ainsi que les crêtes de pression indésirables au niveau de la pompe.
