A fuel management system mounted on a vehicle is operative to feed an individual grade or a mixture of grades of relatively low, intermediate, and high RON fuels, from respective tanks to an associated internal combustion engine. The system includes an on board separation unit (OBS unit) for receiving and separating intermediate RON fuel, from an IRON tank into low and high RON fuels, LRON and HRON, respectively, for delivery to LRON and HRON tanks, respectively. The production rate of the LRON and HRON fuels by the OBS unit is controlled to substantially match the consumption requirements of the engine at any given time for the LRON and HRON fuels.
L'invention concerne un système de gestion de carburant monté sur un véhicule permettant d'amener un grade individuel ou un mélange de grades de carburants à IOR relativement bas, intermédiaire et élevé, depuis des réservoirs respectifs à un moteur à combustion interne associé. Le système comprend une unité de séparation intégrée (unité OBS) destinée à recevoir et séparer le carburant à IOR intermédiaire depuis un réservoir IOR intermédiaire en carburants à IOR bas et élevé, LIOR et HIOR, respectivement, afin de les distribuer à des réservoirs LIOR et HIOR, respectivement. Le taux de production des carburants LIOR et HIOR par l'unité OBS est contrôlé afin de s'adapter sensiblement aux exigences de consommation du moteur à n'importe quel moment pour les carburants LIOR et HIOR.
