ABSTRACT A measuring device is arranged for use with a fuel system for engines. The measuring device has a movable measuring member. An electric sensor in an electric circuit senses movement of the movable member. Indicating or recording devices, or both, are re- sponsive to the electric sensor to indicate or record fuel flow through the measuring device. Structure for treatment of the fuel may be employed with the system for cooling, removing bubbles, or other treatment functions. Also, structure arranged to compensate for variations in the temperature, gravity, or physical character- istics of fuel may be used in the system, and furthermore, structure for controlling the temperature of the fuel supplied to the engine may be used. An alternating structure for sensing movements of the movable member comprises a magnetic pickup. Another concept of the invention conducts fuel from the measuring device, which may or may not be volumetric, to the engine in bypassing relation to the structure for treating the fuel. In addition, structure may be used for conducting fuel from the fuel supply to the engine in by- passing relation to the measuring device.
